The tenders will target 21 locations for retail and 25 locations for public catering, with a total area of approximately 1.500 sq m related to the retail profile, respectively 2.000 sq m for public catering, locations located in all areas of the passenger terminals, respectively in public areas and restricted, Departures and Arrivals.

The retail tender will cover a single package for all retail categories, including press-stationery and daily/necessary items, and public catering will comprise two packages, each covering multiple locations.

The tenders will be a competitive process, which will be started at the beginning of August, and interested entities will have time to submit their offers until mid-October. Thus, CNAB expects to designate the winners by the end of November.

The General Director of the Bucharest Airports Company, Mr. Sorin Radu Păun, mentioned that, while the airport has well overcome the Covid-19 pandemic, now is the time to explore new opportunities for retail and catering within the Henri Coandă International Airport Bucharest.

Mr. Păun stated: "The performance of 2023 so far gives us confidence that soon we will again see air traffic increasing to pre-pandemic levels and even more, but we must bear in mind that the pandemic may have changed certain behaviors of passengers and in this sense we must be well prepared to serve the post-pandemic passenger. To achieve this we need the support of our commercial partners".
