Besides travel restrictions imposed due to the new coronavirus, Romanian citizens must follow a series of rules and conditions in order to travel to the UK. We remind you that the UK is no longer part of the EU, so Romanians traveling for tourism need a passport.
You must have a passport valid for the duration of your stay in the United Kingdom. If you are stopped by a border officer, you must prove the following:
- you are about to leave the UK at the end of the visit;
- you can support yourself and the family members you travel with (or have funding from someone else to support you);
- you can pay for the return trip (or someone else will pay for your trip);
- you will not live in the UK for long periods, through frequent or successive visits, and you will not make the UK your main residence;
The British border authorities may request additional documents and information on a case-by-case basis.
