Czech Airlines has announced that it will complete its fleet with four leased Airbus A220-300 aircraft. The contract was signed with the air leasing operator - Air Lease Corporation, and the first planes will be delivered in 2024. We remind you that, after the restructuring program, the air operator Czech Airlines was left with two functional airplanes, model Airbus A320 - OK-HEU and OK-IOO.

With the arrival of the new A220 aircraft, OK becomes the sixth European airline operator to have this model in its fleet. Delta Air Lines remains the largest operator of A220 aircraft, globally, with 60 existing units in its fleet.

Czech Airlines went through a rough patch, being close to bankruptcy in 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic brought many airlines to the ground, but OK managed to save itself at the last minute through a drastic restructuring. In February 2020, Czech Airlines had a fleet of 15 aircraft, including the ATR 72-500, but also the Airbus A330-300. After the restructuring process, the company was left with two A320 aircraft, which are used on the Prague - Paris route.
