U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said Tuesday that the United States is considering adding four countries to its visa waiver program, which allows citizens to travel without a visa to America for a stay of up to 90 days, inform Reuters.

"We have four or four countries in preparation: Israel, Cyprus, Bulgaria and RomaniaMayorkas said at an event in the tourism industry. "We are very, very focused on the program," he added, saying it offers significant economic and security benefits.

In September, the United States added Croatia to the visa waiver program. The executive director of the US Travel Association, Roger Dow, said on Tuesday that Croatia is a $ 100 million boost for the US economy. "Every time you add one of these countries, the journey simply increases," Dow said.

To participate in the program, a country must meet the requirements of counter-terrorism, law enforcement, immigration law enforcement, document security and border management.
