Minister Kikilias also emphasized the development of tourism that is taking place this year in the areas of Central and Western Macedonia and the replacement of Russians and Ukrainians with other tourists from the Balkan area.
At the end of last month, Greek authorities said they were expecting almost a million tourists at the country's airports in the first week of August. In this sense, the minister also noted that the flights registered in July exceeded 950000 per week.
In addition, as Kikilias explains, around 5.7 million travelers are expected to visit the Greek capital in the second half of 2022. The country is also expecting a record number of passengers in September.
