Helvetic Airways resumed flights on the route Zurich - London City
Helvetic Airways operated a flight from Zurich to London City Airport (LCY) on Thursday night. The short-haul flight was operated by an Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. HB-AZG registered, the Helvetic Airways aircraft made the trip in 1 hour and 20 minutes, re-establishing an essential link for the global financial community.
The Embraer E190-E2 aircraft obtained EASA approval to operate the route to London in May. The airport runway is just over 1.5 kilometers away. Embraer aircraft account for almost 90% of all airport operations. Meanwhile, the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft are almost doubling the routes available in London City. The aircraft can operate flights of up to 4075 kilometers, bringing destinations such as Istanbul, Casablanca and Moscow within reach of the United Kingdom.
Helvetic Airways currently operates 8 Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, 4 first-generation Embraer E190 aircraft and 4 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft was delivered on June 23, with the next 3 aircraft delivered in July.
