On 25 June 2016, TAROM inaugurated a long-awaited route by Romanians from the Moldovan area. Iasi - Madrid with TAROM, from 25 June. Thus, the residents of Iasi and the Moldovan region now have the opportunity to travel more easily to the capital of Spain. The new destination will be honored with flights every Wednesday and Saturday. The plane takes off from Iasi at 19: 50 and arrives at Barajas Airport (Madrid) at 23: 05. The takeoff from Madrid takes place at 00: 10, and the aircraft will land in Iasi at 05: 10, the next day.
The launch of the first flight to the capital of Spain took place at Iasi Airport, inside the new passenger terminal. The event started with a press conference, followed by the cutting of the themed cake. The program did not miss the artistic moments of traditional Spanish dance and classical guitar performance. The highlight of the event was the "baptism" of the aircraft.
On the flight to Madrid, there were not many passengers. But the return flight Madrid - Iasi registered 99 passengers. The Boeing 737-300 YR-BGE aircraft can carry up to 136 passengers. According to our information, TAROM relies heavily on passengers transported to Iasi.

By inaugurating this route, TAROM reaches 19 weekly frequencies on external routes, to seven destinations from Iasi. At the same time, TAROM operates 30 weekly flights on the Iasi-Bucharest route. For 2016, TAROM hopes to transport over 250 000 passengers from / to Iasi.
