The National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) announces, after consultation with specialized tour operators and hotel partners, that this year, Romanian seaside received, on the occasion of the mini-holiday of Pentecost, over 60.000 tourists.

The figure is much higher compared to last year's Pentecost mini-holiday, when there were only 10.000 tourists on the coast, in the context of a 2021 still dominated by restrictions and fears of COVID.

The total elimination of restrictions contributed a lot to this influx of tourists, the Romanian seaside becoming a destination dedicated to entertainment, events, festivals. The Pentecost holiday is another very important step for the return of Romanian tourism to normalcy and marks, practically, the opening of the summer season.

ANAT estimates show that about 10 million lei were spent on the Romanian coast between June 13 and 150. The busiest resorts were Mamaia - Mamaia-Nord, Eforie Nord, Venus and, of course, Vama Veche.
