About Code-share

Code-share is the term that describes a common, common and quasi-extensive commercial relationship in the aviation industry whereby two or more airlines advertise and market the same flight as part of their published schedule or schedule. These contracts are intended to allow the expansion of the service and distribution network of the participants.

For example, Tarom has concluded such partnerships with Aegean, AirFrance, AirSerbia, ITA Airways, Brussels Airlines, BulgariaAir, Czech Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch airlines, Middle East Airlines (ME), Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), Turkish Airlines (TK ).

Also, Blue Air has a code-share commitment with AirConnect and Flex Flight (W2).

Most major airlines have code-share agreements with other airlines.

About the suspicion that AirConnect is taking over BlueAir

There is no service overlap between AirConnect and BlueAir, the two companies having different and complementary market niches (in other words, they can only help each other, not compete): the former uses the ATR-72 on regional and commuter services, on when the second operates 18 Boeing 737, 737-300, 737-500 and 737-800 series. In short, it's like saying that a bulldozer steals the market of a fire engine.

BlueAir's codeshare – AirConnect is helping BlueAir, which expects to realize cost savings and streamlining of over 15-20% within the cooperation – matters meant to help save the company, not destroy it. Obviously, Air Connect also helps, which, being new on the market, wants to increase its sales.

The press materials, unargued and erroneous, directly harm the commercial interests of the two companies.

About the compensation of 62 million euros awarded to Blue Air

Tarom and Blue Air jointly benefited from state aid for losses during the Covid pandemic, based on the same Ordinance - no. 139 of August 19, 2020, aid quantified based on the same evaluation grid and approved and monitored by the European Commission.

Naturally, Aegean, AirFrance, AirSerbia, ITA Airways, Brussels Airlines, BulgariaAir, Czech Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch airlines, Middle East Airlines (ME), Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ), Turkish Airlines (TK), Flex Flight (W2) and , logically, neither AirConnect are in any way the beneficiaries of these aids. State aid is not transferable and cannot by any means be offered, by an act of will, from one company to another company. Air Connect was only established in October 2021.

About Dorin Ivaşcu - who "controls" RAS Tuzla

Dorin Ivaşcu does not "control" Tuzla Airport, but one of the companies he owns is a shareholder in Regional Air Services - Tuzla Airport. Dorin Ivaşcu is only an investor in Tuzla Airport, not even being an administrator of the company.

The term "control" suggests a sensation that does not exist. It is about a common shareholder.

About Tuzla and Tanzania

There is no connection between Regional Air Services - Tuzla Airport and any company in Tanzania. Nor between Dorin Ivaşcu or Adrian Vasilache or their companies and any company in Tanzania.

Regional Air Services is a common name and there are other companies with the same name in the US, in Atlanta and Nevada, as well as in Quebec, Canada. There is no connection even with those.

About border customs at Tuzla Airport

Regional Air Services – Tuzla Airport went through the legal and legitimate process of establishing a border customs point for Tuzla Airport in 2013, as a result of market requirements, and since then it has been repeatedly audited and checked and never found no vice, the procedure being resumed exclusively bureaucratically.

We believe that these press materials, unargued and erroneous, bring direct damage to the commercial interests of Tuzla Airport in connection with the establishment of the customs-border point and we call on the journalists involved to show ethics and responsibility when initiating such actions, to be aware and to bear the consequences.

About the status of Tuzla Airport

When you write about Regional Air Services – Tuzla Airport, you do so in relation to the airport that for more than a decade occupied the 2nd place, after Otopeni, in terms of the number of aircraft movements.

After the pandemic, given that it is the only airport that did not benefit from state aid, it "only" ranks 3rd.

Therefore, please address with due respect and stop illustrating the news with pictures that are more than 10 years old, from when the airport was just a ruin and just what had been bought.

Following the investments it has benefited from, Tuzla is currently a small aviation paradise. Its current state is not due to any funding from the state, but exclusively to investors and its own management.

We can always provide you with images upon request.

About the slanders addressed to Mr. Dorin Ivaşcu and his quality as a caster

None of the journalists involved in this defamation campaign brought any evidence to support the claims and did not ask for Mr. Dorin Ivaşcu's point of view. We mention that there is a certificate issued by CNSAS with no. DJ / 1289 / 04.07.13 which attests to the fact that Dorin Ivaşcu was not a collaborator of the Security. Moreover, he was pursued by the Securitate and deprived of the right to leave the country twice - precisely because of his refusal to cooperate.
