The British authorities have revealed that fully vaccinated minors and adult Europeans will be able to take a less expensive COVID-19 test instead of a PCR test on arrival, starting this Sunday, October 24th.

Thus, travelers will be able to take an antigen test instead of a PCR test before or the day after arriving in the UK. Schedules for booking such tests will open on October 22 and this change is expected to reduce testing costs.

European travelers will be allowed to take a test before departure and present it to the UK authorities via the COVID-19 digital certificate (EUDCC). This means that Europeans holding an EUDCC can travel freely in the UK.

Moreover, this applies to those fully vaccinated with one of the vaccination options approved by the British authorities, which, among others, include Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Janssen. In addition, travelers who have recovered from a COVID-19 infection at least 30 days before entering the UK are also allowed to enter the country without quarantine.

On the other hand, the British government has announced that the red list currently consists of only seven countries such as Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. On the other hand, countries such as Brazil, Chile, Georgia, Indonesia, Montenegro, Namibia, the Philippines, South Africa and Thailand have been eliminated from the red category.
