Wizz Air announces that COVID-19 vaccinations - or periodic antigen / PCR testing in special cases - will be mandatory for the crew from December 1, 2021. Wizz Air is a socially responsible airline and is implementing this rule as part of its commitment to to protect the health and safety of its passengers and crew, as well as to support the smooth and continuous long-term operations of its flights.

Wizz Air introduces COVID-19 vaccinations for all crew members and flight attendants - or periodic antigen / PCR testing in special cases - in the context of research demonstrating their effectiveness as the best available way to protect against COVID-19.

At the onset of the pandemic, Wizz Air initiated the introduction of strict health and safety measures to protect passengers and crew, ensuring the best possible sanitary conditions and encouraging physical distance. As the pandemic continues, Wizz Air is among the first airlines in Europe to further improve its measures through this rule, which will be implemented with the help of local authorities and health institutions at Wizz Air bases.

As governments impose increasing evidence of vaccination for crews as part of national entry requirements, vaccinating crews against COVID-19 is becoming increasingly critical.

József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air Group, said: "At Wizz Air, our priority is the health and safety of our passengers and employees. We have a responsibility to protect the crew and passengers on board by reducing the risks of COVID-19, and vaccines play a vital role in this."
