Wizz Air allocated the 12th aircraft to the base in Bucharest

The newest Airbus A321neo aircraft assigned to "Henri Coandă" Bucharest International Airport is the 160th aircraft in Wizz Air's modern fleet and reinforces the airline's ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Wizz Air is pleased to announce that the 12th aircraft has joined its fleet from Bucharest, supporting the airline's flights to Romania. To mark the occasion, the new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft will contribute to operations on two new routes and will fly to Preveza-Aktion, Greece in July and to the Italian city of Rimini in September. Together with these new destinations, Wizz Air now offers 55 low-cost routes from "Henri Coandă" International Airport to various destinations in Europe and beyond.

The new Airbus A321neo aircraft joining the Wizz Air fleet incorporates the latest technologies in aviation and offers significant environmental benefits, with approximately a 50% reduction in noise footprint, a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a 50% reduction in % of nitrogen oxide emissions. Wizz Air's ultra-modern and efficient fleet is one of the newest in the world, with an average age of 4,74 years, and this newly delivered aircraft supports Wizz Air's position as one of the most sustainable airlines.

The arrival of the new aircraft also supports Wizz Air's commitment to triple the size of its fleet by the end of the decade. Wizz Air has the largest order book with more than 411 state-of-the-art Airbus A320 family aircraft, which will enable the airline to further reduce its environmental footprint by 25% per passenger kilometer by 2030.

Through constant recruitment efforts and new aircraft added to the entire network, the airline supports operations on its routes in Romania, despite recent challenges in the aviation industry. Wizz Air is the largest airline operating from Bucharest, reiterating its commitment to offer popular destinations and ultra-low fares to as many passengers as possible, in the most sustainable way. The vast majority of the airline's flights are on schedule, helping more than 130.000 passengers reach their destinations every day in July.

Romanians can now travel from Bucharest to Preveza-Aktion, Greece, every Monday and Friday, starting in July. Located at the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf, the city of Preveza is a destination with a rich ancient history, perfect for family holidays.

In addition, another flight will take off from Bucharest to Rimini, Italy every Thursday and Sunday starting at the end of September. Rimini is a popular destination in Europe for sunny holidays, with an equally fascinating, lively history and beaches opening onto the Adriatic Sea, as well as a popular destination for Romanians traveling to see their friends and family in Italy . With routes all over Europe, Romanians will be able to travel on these new low-fare Wizz Air flights to two of Europe's most exciting destinations and many more.
