3 festivals in Israel, organized in the middle of the Negev desert
The cultural world seems to have adapted to the prospect of a new pandemic wave, so Israeli festival organizers take advantage of the generous nature of the Holy Land and organize spectacular events right in the heart of the Negev desert.
From the Midburn Festival, considered to be the counterpart of Burning Man in Israel, to the Arava Yoga, the largest gathering of yoga enthusiasts in the Middle East, this fall will be an intense one, with a lot of fun and adventure in the heart of the desert.
Midburn Festival, a different kind of Burning Man
Midburn, the Israeli version of the iconic Burning Man Festival, will be held this year between September 24 and 29 in the Negev desert in the south of the country, in a setting that seems detached from oriental fairy tales. For five days, participants will have the opportunity to experience a different kind of festival, because Midburn is not about music and has no official scenes. Founded in 2014, the event is rather a meeting of art lovers, free and creative spirits, a community eager to express themselves as they feel. From teenagers to families with children, this year it is estimated that the festival will gather several thousand participants.
For this event, a temporary city will be created in the Negev desert, a space of art and freedom, so that festival-goers will be able to explore closely the areas dedicated to various artistic events, but also the places that will host parties that will last until dawn. .
Founded in 2014, the event attracted a growing family, with a record 8.000 people in 2016. This is not a music festival - there are no official stages - it is rather a festival of art, self-expression and community in which the camps host parties - and in the center of the beach are incredible art exhibits and a huge temple that is burned to death last night.
InDNegev Festival, the paradise of indie music
One of the largest indie music festivals in Israel, an eclectic mix of musical styles and influences, InDNegev returns this year between September 30 and October 2 in the Mitzpe Gvulot area of the Negev desert. For three days, the festival-goers will have over 100 live performances, staged by the coolest bands in Israel, from indie bands to solo artists who combine reggae, punk, techno and more.
The line-up of this year's edition includes Mercedes Band, Jasmine Mualem, Assaf Amdursky, Lola Marsh, Red Axes, TATRAN, Crotches, among others, a selection of the best local bands in Israel.
Yoga Arava, in sync with the free spirit
Reaching its tenth edition, Yoga Arava is the largest gathering of yoga enthusiasts in the Middle East, an event that includes workshops and workshops designed by the best teachers in the world, training and techniques designed to help participants to find their inner harmony and balance. The event will take place between November 4 and 6 in the Arava desert in southeastern Israel, a quiet place that encourages relaxation and meditation, a good place to deepen yoga practices and the knowledge revealed by them.
