Alexandru Podgoreanu International Airport in Tuzla, a vital point in the development of the historical Romania-Bulgaria connection

"Alexandru Podgoreanu" International Airport - Tuzla, together with colleagues from general aviation, ARPA and AROPA members and friends and partners from Balcic and Albena airports, welcomes the entry of Romania and Bulgaria into "Air and Maritime Schengen" from March 31, 2024, celebrating at the same time the relaunch of Tuzla airport in a new, modern and efficient formula, through a complex event, held on April 13 and 27, 2024.

On April 13, 2024, between 12:00 and 12:30, approximately 20 Romanian aircraft take off from Alexandru Podgoreanu Tuzla International Airport and from other Romanian airports to Balcic, where the Bulgarian partners are waiting for them starting at 13:30.

At the event in Bulgaria, among many others, the Prime Minister, Mr. Nikolay Denkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Teodora Genchovska and the Bulgarian Minister of Tourism, Ms. Zaritsa Dinkova.

After the official ceremony, the atmosphere relaxes at the Hangar Party, and the return of the Romanian aircraft will be made to Tuzla or directly to the localities of origin of the operators.

Inauguration Day: Bulgaria. Romania. Tuzla.

On April 27, 2024, pilots and general aviation aircraft from Bulgaria are coming to "Alexandru Podgoreanu" Tuzla International Airport where they are expected for a similar event, but also for the official inauguration of the new airport infrastructure, modernized with the help of two investments made through the Operational Program Regional Large Infrastructure (POIM 2014 – 2020), Priority Axis 2: Development of a quality, sustainable and efficient multimodal transport system.

Officials and many enthusiasts are expected at the ceremony because Tuzla is a magnet for the community of those who love aviation, its history and its deep values. Tuzla today is not only an airport, but a meeting point for aviators, a center of excellence and a symbol of progress.
