The company Dan Air announced through a press conference that it will, however, continue the collaboration with Brașov Airport, for the time being. "Priority being the safety of our passengers, we assume the additional losses and difficulties encountered and we inform you that we will continue our flight schedule adapted to the conditions currently offered by Brașov Airport.
We note that following our requests, Brașov Airport sent us a communication during this day according to which the logistics problem for removing the birds from the Ghimbav airport area has been resolved. Regarding the lack of maintenance organizations, we were showing that we are still waiting for an answer", it is stated in the Dan Air press release.
The initial news before the press conference: DAN Air, this Mioritico-Otevista company, announced through the voice of Mr. Matt Ian David, Dan Air CEO, that the suspension of flights from Brașov is being considered. The decision comes amid several misunderstandings, including after an incident reported on June 24, when a DAN Air company aircraft on the Madrid-Brasov-Bucharest route was 16 minutes late landing at Brasov airport due to ROMATSA giving priority an aircraft taking off. In reality, the DAN Air aircraft was an hour late on takeoff from Madrid, a delay that persisted throughout the flight, but that's another story that DAN Air officials won't tell :).

Editor's note: Ever since the announcement of routes and flights, I have been skeptical of all DAN Air action. Too many flights, too many routes for a single plane assigned to Romania. I am not interested in DAN Air's activities for other companies. For those who don't know, DAN Air has two planes assigned to Serbia for Air Serbia, and there is a contract by which DAN Air undertakes to provide some services to the LOT company in Poland. Flights are profitable, with or without passengers.
But located in Romania is a completely different story. DAN Air knew about the Brașov airport timetable since 2022, the year in which it was established, later reiterated in April 2023, and despite this, it did not take measures to scale its activity according to the schedule. He waited for the inauguration of the airport to then start the cancan with numerous insults and attacks on ROMATSA. With more understanding from all parties involved the situation probably would have been resolved without washing the laundry in public. But why not a Romanian?
