Germanwings suspends three routes from Berlin, including Bucharest

0 378

Germanwings, a low-cost airline and part of the Lufthansa Group, has announced that it will suspend three routes from Berlin - Geneva, Stockholm and Bucharest.

The 5 weekly flights operated on the route Berlin (Tegel) - Geneva will be suspended from January 5. The three weekly flights operated by Airbus A319 aircraft, on the route Berlin (Tegel) - Bucharest, will be suspended from 7 January 2014. From January 6, the flights on the route Berlin (Tegel) - Stockholm will be removed. The low-cost operator will evaluate the route Berlin - Bucharest and consider the reintroduction of flights from the summer season 2014.

According to the plan announced by Lufthansa Group earlier this year, the new Germanwings will take over some of the routes operated by Lufthansa. It will operate a fleet of 90 aircraft to 110 European destinations and hopes to transport up to 20 millions of passengers annually. At the time, they announced that they would not leave the Romanian market, and even have expansion plans. It seems that sometimes the home counts do not match the ones in the fair.

From January 2014, AirBerlin will be the only airline that will operate daily flights on the route Berlin (Tegel) - Bucharest, fares from 99 EUR round trip with all taxes included.
