Germany has changed the conditions of entry: Romanians vaccinated / tested or immunized naturally can travel without restrictions!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the German authorities have changed the conditions for entry into the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus, in the context of Romania's elimination from the category of "risk areas", starting with June 2, 2021, persons traveling from Romania by air may enter German territory provided they present one of the following documents:

Romanians vaccinated / tested or immunized naturally can travel to Germany without restrictions!

  • a document attesting to the negative test result for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. PCR tests (validation not exceeding 72 hours) and antigen tests (validity of maximum 48 hours), performed according to the criteria established by the Robert Koch Institute, are accepted. This proof may be submitted on paper or in electronic format and must be in one of the languages ​​German, English, French, Italian or Spanish;
  • a document attesting to the completion of the complete vaccination schedule against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination may be used only if at least 14 days have elapsed since the administration of the booster dose or single dose (for the single dose vaccine) of one of the EU-approved vaccines;
  • a document attesting to SARS-VOC-2 virus infection. Evidence of previous infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus and, implicitly, of healing is based on a laboratory test that was performed at least 28 days before, but not more than 6 months. The cumulative presentation of evidence of previous SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, as well as vaccination with at least one dose of an EU-approved vaccine, is also permitted.

According to the information publicly communicated by the German authorities, for the entry into the Federal Republic of Germany from Romania by road it is not necessary to present the aforementioned documents.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends to Romanian citizens to be informed about any last minute changes or specific elements established by the destination country.
