As of today, Greece wishes "welcome!" all tourists from the European Union and third countries New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Rwanda, Singapore, USA, UK, Israel, Serbia and UAE. Access is allowed without quarantine.

Greece is gradually opening its borders in a safe and achievable way. The first stage, from April 19, has some limitations compared to the general opening scheduled for May 14.

Thus, those who want to travel to Greece, starting today, must meet the following requirements:

  • Negative PCR test performed a maximum of 72 hours before entry into Greece. The essential information must also be in English. It is a mandatory measure for all tourists (including children over 5 years of age), regardless of the epidemiological situation in the country of departure.
  • Those vaccinated with both doses, as appropriate, and 14 days have elapsed since the booster, can travel to Greece on the basis of the vaccination certificate (with information and in English), without the need for a test. Greece recognizes the following vaccines: Pfizer BioNtech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca / Oxford, Novavax, Johnson + Johnson / Janssen, Sinovac Biotech, Gamaleya (Sputnik), Cansino Biologics, Sinopharm.
  • Every passenger who arrives in Greece, regardless of the certificate they hold, can be subjected to a health check by random selection. If selected, verification is required. Otherwise, his entry into Greece may be refused. The selection is based on the EVA system used in the summer of 2020. The control consists of rapid testing with COVID-19 antigen test. If the test is positive, the tourist and travel partners will be transported to a quarantine hotel where another test will be performed, this time of the PCR type, to confirm or deny the test. If the PCR test is also positive, the quarantine will be for 10 days, and other tests will be performed. Accommodation costs will be borne by the Greek state.
  • Each tourist must complete the PLF (Passenger Location Form) by 23:59 of the day before the trip to Greece.

Access to Greece is not conditional on vaccination

Greece would like to mention that access to the country is not conditioned by the vaccination certificate, only the valid vaccination certificate can greatly facilitate the formalities on arrival. However, in no case shall the vaccination certificate or antibody certificate be considered a "passport".

Passengers are allowed to enter the country through 9 airports (Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Corfu, Rhodes, Kos, Chania, Mykonos, Santorini). Those who choose to travel by land can enter Greece at the borders of Promachonas and Nymphaio.
