Following the firm commitment assumed on April 5, 2024 by Confindustria Romania representatives to support the efforts of Sibiu International Airport in order to develop air connections to and from regions of interest in Italy, Aeroitalia representatives were present yesterday, 12 April 2024, at Sibiu International Airport.
The meeting was attended by Daniela CÎMPEAN - President of the Sibiu County Council, Vlad VASIU - Vice-President of the Sibiu County Council, Marius Ioan GÎRDEA - Director General of Sibiu International Airport, Grigore POPESCU - County Councillor, Honorary Consul of the Italian Republic in Sibiu - Italo SELLERI , the President of Confindustria Romania – Giulio Bertola, the territorial delegate of Confindustria Romania for Sibiu – Matteo Baruzzi, as well as the representatives of AEROITALIA, Krassimir Tanev – Chief Commercial Officer, Andrea Nastasi – Marketing Director and Adrian Duru – Country Manager Romania.

Through the active involvement of the business environment, we emphasize once again the importance of collaboration between the private sector and local authorities in promoting economic development and transport infrastructure in the Sibiu region. Aeroitalia representatives had two intense and particularly interesting days with meetings in which the significant expansion of the Sibiu airport and its modernization were noted, which is thus prepared to guarantee excellent services to people traveling between Italy and Sibiu county, as it is already happening in the case of European destinations available from Sibiu International Airport.
