"Mayday, Mayday, Air China 403. We request priority landing,” the pilot can be heard saying in a live stream that aired on LiveATC.net. The plane involved in this incident was an Air China Airbus A320 (B-305J, built 2018).

Smoke was reported in the aircraft's cabin and one of its lavatories, but online photos show a smoke-filled cabin. In one audio section, the pilots appear to be using the oxygen mask.

Footage from Singapore Changi Airport shows passengers being evacuated via emergency chutes while the aircraft was still on the runway at one of Asia's busiest airports. According to the images, the left engine (PW1100G) was on fire. After landing, emergency teams intervened in force to extinguish the fire.
