Wizz Air, the largest low-fare, low-cost airline in Romania and Central and Eastern Europe today announced that it will begin operations at Arad International Airport, thus resuming commercial flights from this airport. Wizz Air will operate from 23 June to 2012 twice weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays to Milan-Bergamo (Italy).

Wizz Air, which already operates flights to Milan Bergamo from Timisoara Airport, will add a new airport in the region to serve the high demand for flights from Arad to northern Italy, a popular destination for both business and leisure travel. The new route that will be operated on weekdays is added to the services offered in Timisoara.

Wizz Air considers the opening of this route as an initial investment to expand services between Romania and Northern Italy, an opportunity realized in collaboration with the airport management and the Arad County Council officials. Arad International Airport is the 5 airport in Romania from which Wizz Air flights are operated, and this expansion strengthens the position of the largest airline in Romania.
