RYANAIR base in Madeira and 10 new routes for the 2022 summer season
Ryanair has announced the opening of its base in Madeira, the fifth in Portugal. Two new aircraft will be allocated, representing an investment of 2 million dollars. At the same time, RYANAIR also announced the introduction of 200 new routes, connecting Madeira with mainland Portugal and 10 other European countries, positioning the region as a top tourist destination.
Madeira is one of the sunniest destinations in Europe, being accessible in the winter season, but also in the summer season.
With the launch of the base, RYANAIR generates 60 direct jobs. After the inauguration of the 10 new routes, RYANAIR will operate more than 40 flights a week. In total, Ryanair will operate flights on 160 routes in the summer season 2022, more than twice as many as TAP Air Portugal, to 15 countries. Thus, RYANAIR becomes the No. 1 operator in Portugal.
The new routes announced by RYANAIR will be: Brussels Charleroi, Dublin, Lisbon, London Stansted, Manchester, Marseille, Milan Bergamo, Nuremberg, Paris Beauvais and Porto.
