The implementation of the Brasov International Airport project continues at a sustained pace, on several levels. In addition to the construction of the airport infrastructure, which has reached the final stage of execution, and the launch of the Airport certification procedure, discussions with the air operators have officially started.

Adrian-Ioan Veştea, president of the Braşov County Council, and Alexandru Anghel, director of the Airport Implementation Department, together with a team of specialists from the county executive had working meetings in Bucharest with decision makers from Blue Air and Air Bucharest.

The authorities in Brașov had discussions with the representatives of Blue Air and Air Bucharest

The talks were held at the Blue Air headquarters, with the executive director Oana Petrescu and the commercial director Krassimir Tanev, respectively at Air Bucharest, with the executive director Hasan Yapici and with the air operations manager Florea Geica.

If Blue Air is a well-known operator of domestic and international frequent flights, Air Bucharest is an airline of charters and flights ADHOC that together with a travel agency offers complete tourist packages.

Blue Air could operate frequent flights and Air Bucharest charter flights

Because it has its own aircraft, Air Bucharest has the lowest operating costs, is present at the most important airports in the country and has the capacity to enter a emerging market, such as Brasov.

"During both meetings, we presented the stage of implementation of our project on the three components we are working on: the construction of airport infrastructure, air navigation services and approaches to airport certification. In the discussions, we were asked about the traffic we estimate for the coming years and about the expectations we have from the point of view of the operation of the Airport. It is important that at the level of the management of the two companies there is a real interest in having commercial relations with Brasov Airport. We want Blue Air to operate regular flights to Brasov, and Air Bucharest to set up charter flights to established tourist destinations abroad.", said the president of the Brasov County Council, Adrian-Ioan Veştea.

The representatives of the air operators announced that they are documenting themselves from an economic point of view on the Brasov business environment and in this sense they requested the organization of a meeting with investors from Brasov and the adjacent area, as well as with tourism operators operating on the local market.

The president of the Brasov County Council expressed his readiness to organize this meeting in the next period together with the Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania. The executive director Alexandru Anghel mentioned that the discussions with the two operators also aimed at their involvement in the next stage of designing the flight procedures at Brasov International Airport, considering that the final form of the flight procedures design is made in consultation with the airlines.
