The Canadian government has resumed tests random for Covid-19 on the arrival of international flights at the four largest airports in the country, for fully vaccinated passengers, who remain the only ones who can enter without quarantine.

From 19 July 2022, "mandatory random testing" will be resumed for passengers arriving at airports in MontrealTorontoVancouver and Calgary. All these tests will be performed outside airports , "Either with a physical presence in stores or pharmacies where there are tests, or during a virtual meeting for self-screening".

Take advantage of the locations near the airport for the quickest and easiest way to test yourself on arrival.

  • Calgary (YYC) - Switch Health
  • Montreal (YUL) - Biron
  • Toronto (YYZ) - LifeLabs
  • Vancouver (YVR) - LifeLabs

Travelers who are not considered fully vaccinated should be further tested on day 1 and day 8 of their mandatory 14-day quarantine. Unvaccinated children under 12 years of age should be quarantined for 14 days.

Fully vaccinated passengers who are selected for mandatory random testing will receive one notification by e-mail "within 15 minutes from customs control". The email will provide information that will help them organize the test with a test provider in their area. If the result of the test performed on arrival is positive, the passenger must isolate himself for 10 days from the date of receipt of the result.

Vaccinated or not, all travelers must use ArriveCAN (mobile application or website) to provide mandatory travel information within 72 hours of arriving in Canada or before embarking on a cruise in Canada. "Further efforts are being made to improve the ArriveCAN compliance rate, which is already over 95% for land and air travelers."
