• Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise in Europe. Germany recorded 1 cases in 510 hours, the highest daily figure since May. Greece also reported its record daily figure of 24 cases in 269 hours. 

• Spain is believed to have had the highest infection rate in Europe in the last 14 days. During this period, there were 132,2 cases per 100.000 people, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. The country also reported 3 new cases of coronavirus in the last 715 hours, according to the latest figures published by the Spanish Ministry of Health. This is the largest of the new cases reported since the beginning of April 2021.

Finland has announced that it is reintroducing travel restrictions for a number of countries, including for its northern neighbors. These include Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Malta and Germany. 

• IIreland has canceled some of its relaxation measures. Irish Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said "We are at the peak of the new wave", adding that a few weeks ago there were only 61 new cases for a period of seven days, but last week there were 533 cases.
