COVID-19 Daily - July 7, 2021: the number of new cases in Spain increases; over 60 fans at Wembley; Greece reintroduces some restrictions!

July 7 brings new information on the evolution of the global pandemic. Some countries are beginning to feel anti-COVID relaxations and the number of new cases is increasing, other countries are continuing the vaccination process. Let's see what's new today!

• About 60.000 fans are at Wembley Stadium tonight to watch England - Denmark at EURO 2020.  It is the largest crowd in the UK since the pandemic began. Hundreds of supporters will gather in the official UEFA fan zone in Trafalgar Square, in addition to those in pubs, on the streets and at home, but coronavirus restrictions will remain in place. 

• Spain is beginning to face a new wave of COVID-19. The number of new cases began to increase from day to day. Faced with new outbreaks, Barcelona has announced that it will close its nightclubs this weekend. Such places reopened across the country just three weeks ago. 

• The number of French billionaires increased from 95 to 109 during the pandemic, according to the magazine Challenges. The cumulative wealth of France's 500 largest fortunes increased by 30% in one year. Some wealth increases are blamed on the pandemic.

• London Heathrow Airport prepares fast colors for passengers arriving in England and are fully vaccinated. The government is expected to announce the lifting of the quarantine for travelers arriving in England from yellow countries. 

• The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned governments around the world of lifting COVID-19 restrictions too soon.. Possible to follow wave four!

• Greek authorities have announced the reintroduction of restrictions on entertainment venues following a recent increase in new COVID-19 infections. Restaurants, cafes and clubs will strictly serve the customers who sit at the tables. Nikos Hardalias, Deputy Minister for Civil Protection and Crisis Management, warned that those who do not comply with the new measures will face heavy fines and the closure of the premises. 

• More than 1 million people in Albania have been vaccinated, announced the Albanian authorities. Ogerta Manastirliu, Minister of Health, wrote on Facebook: "Over 1 million vaccinations and we will not stop until all citizens are vaccinated."

• Malta has approved $ 5,3 million in aid for farmers suffering from the pandemic. Agriculture Minister Anton Refalo said the agricultural industry had been hit hard by the closure of restaurants and hotels and a drop in the number of tourists, all leading to a drop in demand for fresh produce. 

• Poland it could face about 15 COVID-000 cases a day if not enough people are vaccinated before a fourth fall wave.

• The new Lambda variant, which has been detected in over 30 countries, has now arrived in Belgium. At least one case has been reported.
