flydubai, the low-cost airline in the United Arab Emirates, has announced the launch of flights to Sharm El Sheikh. From June 15, three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday) will be operated to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH). This is the second flydubai destination in Egypt, next to Alexandria Borg El Arab International Airport (HBE).

With the launch of flights to Sharm El Sheikh, flyDubai is expanding its network of seasonal holiday routes to seven destinations, including flights to Bodrum (as of 4 June) and Trabzon (from 24 June) in Turkey, Batumi (from 25 June) in Georgia, Mykonos (as of 18 June) and Santorini (from 18 June) in Greece and Tivat (June 25) in Montenegro. FlyDubai plans to resume flights to Naples in Italy and Salzburg in Austria starting in July.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, executive director at flydubai, said:As more countries gradually lift restrictions on international travel, we are excited to expand our network and offer passengers more travel options this summer. Sharm El Sheikh has been a popular holiday destination for many years and we expect to see a strong demand for travel from the UAE and the GCC."
