This morning, the cabin crew and pilots of Brussels Airlines, together with their union members, gathered near Brussels airport to protest.

Around 10:00, everyone went to the Brussels Airlines headquarters to show their dissatisfaction, informs aviation24.be. Trade unions are demanding structural measures to ensure the future of the company and its employees. The three-day strike is part of a social conflict.

Brussels Airlines said it had already canceled 315 flights over the next three days, affecting about 40.000 passengers. Most were rerouted on flights by Lufthansa partners or other Brussels Airlines partner airlines, said Maaike Andries, a spokeswoman for the airline.

Other passengers were not so lucky and did not receive flight solutions, but they will get their money back. Those affected by these strikes, who will not reach their destination or arrive three hours late, will also be eligible for financial compensation of up to 600 euros.

Brussels Airlines acknowledged the high workload and said it would reduce pressure on the flight crew by canceling flights and hiring additional staff, but said the financial results (a loss of EUR 60 million in the first quarter of 2022) did not allows to make salary indexations.
