Eurowings has been flying to Palma de Mallorca from Manchester and Birmingham since May 2021.

Eurowings enters the British tourism market in response to rising demand for flights between the UK and Mallorca. The German leisure airline, which has an international base in Mallorca, will connect Manchester and Birmingham with the most popular Mediterranean island in Europe, starting in late May.

Entering the British travel market, Eurowings will fly twice a week from Birmingham, as well as from Manchester to Palma de Mallorca.

The number of bookings in the UK increased within hours after the British prime minister set out the country's "recovery plan". Flight bookings for the summer season have increased, with many Britons booking flights to southern Europe, mainly to Mallorca.

Vacation bookings of travel agents increased by over 600 percent.

Holiday bookings of holiday agents have increased in some cases by more than 600 percent. Almost at the same time, Mallorca announced steps to open restaurants and bars after the number of infections was significantly lower.

Eurowings is by far the largest travel provider between Palma de Mallorca and Germany - flights are also known as "Palma Shuttle". The Lufthansa Group will connect Mallorca with 24 airports in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the summer season 2021.

This summer, the airlines of Lufthansa Group will offer the widest range of holiday destinations in recent years, thus demonstrating the company's knowledge of the leisure travel market.
