The first Airbus A380 Asiana Airlines will enter operational service in June 2014

As of June 2014, Asiana Airlines operation of the first Airbus A380 will begin. To begin with, the aircraft will be used on flights between Seoul and Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo-Narita and Osaka, and will fly to Los Angeles in July.

At a press conference held on 10 February 2014, Cheon Kim, the president of the airline, unveiled A380 aircraft configuration and initial plans for superjumbo flights. Asiana Airlines Airbus A380 aircraft will be able to carry up to 495 passengers in a three-class configuration: 12 seats in First Class (lower deck), 66 seats in Business Class (upper deck) and 417 seats in Economy Class (311 seats on the lower deck and 106 on the upper deck).

Among the first photos revealed, we can see that First Class passengers will enjoy the 32 inch display and the minibar. Recall that the A380 Asiana aircraft will be equipped with Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines.

Asiana Airlines will be the 12 air carrier that will have A380 fleet, after Singapore Airlines, Air France, British Airways, China Southern Airlines, Emirates Airlines, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas Airways and Thai Airways. The 11 will be operated by Qatar Airways.
