At that time, Delta Air Lines was operating regular flights to and from Bucharest. It had entered the market in 2007, after a break of 10 years.

Unfortunately, the US airline has decided to withdraw from the Romanian market in full economic crisis. In September 2009, Delta Air Lines gave up the route because it was no longer profitable due to increased competition and low prices, although the freight rate was 80%.
