Swiss airline flyBAIR will be launched on July 18. It will take a flight to two routes from the Swiss regions to Mallorca (Spain).

On March 27, FlyBAIR CEO José González said the launch had been "proactively postponed" after a significant drop in bookings. The COVID-19 crisis has affected Greece, Italy and Spain.

In an update from June 12, FlyBAIR said it would now make its inaugural flights on July 18, initially flying to Mallorca from Bern and Zion.

FlyBAIR based in Bern it was due to start operations in May 2020, scheduling flights to Jerez (Spain), Olbia (Italy), Crete (Greece), Kos (Greece) and Rhodes (Greece), as well as the Spanish Balearic Islands - Mallorca and Menorca. Another connection was planned between the Swiss city of Zion and Mallorca.

FlyBAIR planned to serve the routes using an Embraer 190 E1 model, operated by the Swiss carrier Helvetic.

Bern's airport operator, Flughafen Bern, is the largest shareholder in flyBAIR, holding 15,3% of the company's shares.
