Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced that there are 140 people and 16 tons of aid aboard the Boeing 777-200ER EL AL, indicative of 4X-ECD.
Today, 27 January 2019, the aircraft took off from Tel Aviv around 06: 30 (Brazil time), to land at Belo Horizonte International Airport around 21: 40 (Brazil time).
After about 8 years, this is the first El Al flight operated to Brazil. The official flights, which were operated on the Tel Aviv - Sao Paulo route, were suspended in 2011. The suspension was based on several diplomatic difficulties, as well as the increase in the price per barrel of oil. And at the same time, it is the first time that an El Al plane lands at Belo Horizonte.
