Hypersonix will fly in space using hydrogen. Australia-based Hypersonix Launch Systems will use hydrogen renewable fuel supplied by BOC Limited for reusable SPARTAN scramjet engines.
Hypersonix Launch Systems, in partnership with Boeing, is developing a sustainable hypersonic vehicle powered by SPARTAN scramjet engines that use hydrogen as an alternative fuel. The vehicle should be used as a reusable launcher for satellites in low Earth orbit. The rapid and reliable launch of small satellites into orbit would be the first application of scramjet engines for space launch.
The company has entered into an agreement with British natural gas supplier BOC Limited. It recently received funding for the development of a pilot project to produce an alternative hydrogen-based fuel and refueling on Bulwer Island, near Brisbane, Australia.

In 2020, Hypersonix received a marketing grant from the Australian Federal Department of Industry. In March 2021, the company announced that it had concluded a research agreement with Boeing for the development of their vehicle.
