ITA Airways, Italy's new national carrier, has placed an order for 28 Airbus aircraft, including: 7 x A220, 11 x A320neo and 10 x A330neo. The firm order follows a memorandum dated September 30, 2021. In addition, ITA Airways will continue its plans to lease A350 aircraft to complete the modernization of its wide-body fleet.

Airbus A220
The A220 is the only aircraft specially built for the 100-150-seat market and brings together modern avionics, composite materials and state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney engines. I have also written about the Airbus A320neo family of aircraft on other occasions. It is the most successful family of aircraft to date and has an operational reliability of 99,7%. A320neo offers operators a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. A320neo aircraft incorporate the latest technologies, including next-generation engines and Sharklet air vents.
