If during the peak period of the pandemic KLM operated between 5 and 10% of the total flights, by the end of July 2020, the company aims to reach 30% of the total number of flights. Route Bucharest - Amsterdam it is also included in this stage of flight expansion, and the first flight is scheduled for 17 June 2020.

The flights will be operated daily from June 17, in extended hygiene conditions throughout the process of check-in, boarding, flight and landing. All flights provided for in the summer program may be subject to change depending on the decisions of the authorities, the needs of passengers in Romania and the occupancy rate of the aircraft.

"Our passengers want to return aboard KLM aircraft, as evidenced by the considerable number of reservations received since the first days, when the flight Bucharest - Amsterdam reappeared in the reservation systems. We have positive signals from the Dutch business community, but also from Romanians who work or live in the Netherlands, so we are very happy with this good news. All flights will be operated in compliance with all hygiene and protection measures, both on board our aircraft and at the airport. ", said Alexandru Dobrescu, Country Manager of Air France KLM Romania and Bulgaria.

Let's deduce that Tarom will also fly on June 17 from Bucharest to Amsterdam, as scheduled? Or should these announcements be taken with the reservation that the Romanian government will not decide to extend the flight suspension? As long as nothing is officially announced, and airlines allow themselves to sell reservations for data for which it is not known for sure that there will be flights, such announcements have little value. My flights have already been canceled twice in the last two weeks, each time two or three days before the scheduled date. Of course you can reschedule them, if you can afford to pay a few hundred Euros each time in addition to the exchange fee for connecting flights, which are not to blame for Romania announcing only on June 27 that it is suspending flights according to a laws passed on June 18.

It depends on the bilateral agreements concluded between the Netherlands and Romania. From our verifications, TAROM appears with flights Bucharest - Amsterdam starting with June 17.

How come we have canceled 2 flights so far with KLM. Departure from JFK to Amsterdam and Bucharest. I rebooked for July 10th. Will we get home too? Well, KLM does not fly to Bucharest. By government decision, the Netherlands - Romania flights are suspended.
