Lufthansa and British Airways are the world's first companies with COVID-19 Safety Rating certificates. Both airlines received 4 stars in terms of pandemic safety on board aircraft.

The evaluation of COVID-19 covers the potential risks of customers, but also the elements at the airport or inside the aircraft.

Also, in an attempt to revitalize air traffic in Germany, Lufthansa has begun experimenting with rapid passenger testing at Munich and Hamburg airports.

This morning, all passengers of flight LH2058 were tested by COVID-19, and all those with negative results were able to travel safely. The flight, which departed from Munich at 9:10, marked the beginning of the pilot rapid antigen testing experiment.

Once the test was completed, customers received the results shortly via SMS and email. All test results of the second flight, LH2059, from Hamburg to Munich, were also negative.

In close cooperation with Munich and Hamburg airports, as well as the Centogene biotechnology companies and the Medicover Group's healthcare center, MVZ Martinsried, the airline offers its customers the opportunity to be tested for Covid-19 free of charge before the flight.

The flights on which this pilot experiment will be performed are flights LH2058 - to Hamburg and LH2059 - to Munich. Passengers who do not wish to be tested are transferred to an alternative flight at no additional cost.

Passengers may have a negative PCR test that was performed no more than 48 hours before departure. Lufthansa handles the complete quick test procedure. There are no additional costs for passengers. All they have to do is register online in advance and give the boarding process a little more time.
