Change in entry conditions in Greece in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic: rapid testing!

Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Greek authorities have announced new measures on the conditions for entry into Greek territory in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thus, in accordance with the information officially communicated by the Greek authorities, starting with November 20, 2020, all persons entering the Hellenic Republic by road via Promachonas border point, will be subject rapid testing for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, the result being communicated immediately.

Access to the territory of the Hellenic Republic will be allowed only to persons who will obtain a negative result on rapid testing. Freight carriers are exempt from the measure of rapid testing.

The MFA emphasizes that this new measure is additional, maintaining the obligation to present a negative PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 infection, taken with maximum 72 hours before by entering Greek territory.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that all persons entering the Hellenic Republic have the obligation to fill in the PLF (Passenger Locator Form) at least 24 hours before the start of the trip, regardless of the state from which they arrive.

The MFA reiterates the recommendation addressed to the Romanian citizens to be thoroughly informed before traveling abroad and to strictly observe the measures adopted in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We mention that you can travel from Greece to Romania without the obligation to enter quarantine / isolation. Greece is not on Romania's yellow list, updated on November 20, 2020.
