On September 6 2019, the first Airbus A220 EGYPTAIR was delivered. This is an Airbus A220-300, which is part of an order of 12 aircraft of this model.
Thus EGYPTAIR becomes the first air carrier in the Middle East and North Africa region with A220 in the fleet. At the same time, EGYPTAIR is the 6 airline in the world that will operate this model.
The A220 aircraft delivery event took place in Mirabel, Canada. The representatives of the airline and the directors of Airbus Canada Limited Partnership participated.

The new A220-300 EGYPTAIR is configured in a two-class cabin. It can carry up to 140 passengers: 15 at Premium Economy and 125 at Economy Class.
The A220 family of aircraft is the only one on the market segment 100-150 seats. It offers increased efficiency in operational service and passenger comfort, all in a single-aisle aircraft. Propulsion is provided by 2 PW1500G Pratt & Whitney engines.
