Singapore Airlines has been flying a Boeing 737-800 in the Maldives since March 30, 2021.

Singapore Airlines will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft for flights to the Maldives, starting March 30, 2021.

It is the first time in 40 years that the airline has used narrow-body aircraft in its fleet. This new era of the airline comes after the merger between Singapore Airlines and Silk Air.

In the coming months, the Boeing 737-800 will be used on the following routes:

  • Chongqing - March 8, 2021
  • Phnom Penh - March 17, 2021
  • Malé - from March 30, 2021
  • Colombo - from May 1, 2021
  • Yangon - from May 1, 2021
  • Mandalay - from November 2, 2021

Boeing 737-800 aircraft Singapore Airlines they will have a total of 162 places, with 12 places in Business Class and 150 places in Economy.

The use of narrow-body aircraft would allow the airline to operate more cost-effectively and allow fleet flexibility on more routes.
