Singapore Airlines has ordered several Airbus A380 and Airbus A350 XWB aircraft

Singapore Airlines, the first A380 airline operator, announced its intention to order 25 for new medium and long-haul aircraft. SIA still wants 5 Airbus A380 units (24 total ordered, operational 19) and 20 Airbus A350-900 XWB aircraft for medium and international flights.

Singapore Airlines was the launch company for the A380, and currently operates 19 super jumbo to 10 destinations in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the USA. The aircraft are configured with three classes and have a capacity of 525 passengers. It can fly up to 15700 km without a stopover. To date, Airbus has more than 257 firm orders from 20 airlines. The largest order was given by Emirates - 90 aircraft.

A350 XWB (Xtra Wide-Body) is the plane of the future and is scheduled to enter the market from 2014. To date, 34 of air carriers have ordered over 550 of A350 XWB aircraft. The new model can be configured with 270 and 350 passenger capabilities. The new family will be highlighted by the low fuel consumption up to 25%, but also with the reduced degree of emissions.
