On August 23, 2021, a TAROM aircraft model Boeing 737-800 performed a humanitarian flight in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on the route Bucharest - Dubai - Saigon. It transported 199.200 doses of COVID-19 vaccine, donated by the Romanian state.
The special flight was operated with three crews, the transported weight was about 2 tons, and the actual flight time was about 13 hours and 40 minutes, with a refueling stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The transport was carried out at the request of the Department of Emergency Situations - Ministry of Internal Affairs, within the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
