Maurice Maureen Avila lost her dream job as a stewardess and, after a few difficult months, trying to rebuild her life, she ventured into a new business.
When asked about her lifestyle before the pandemic, Maurice says that working as a flight attendant was quite charming. In fact, being a flight attendant is one of the most respected jobs in the Philippines. "I saw different countries and met people from different cultures. But the pandemic has changed all that. ", says Maurice.
The pandemic turned Maurice's life upside down. The loss of the main source of income made her resort to alternative ways of earning a living. Maurice tried to stay creative and find ways to help others.
One day, she saw an opportunity to sell gas cylinders to her neighbors. Soon, with the help of his family, he franchised his business and began delivering gas cylinders with a cart.
"So instead of the stroller I used as a flight attendant, I started pulling strollers with bottles.", laughs Maurice.
In October 2020, Maurice wrote about his new social media adventure for the first time. She confessed that it was difficult to "Lose your wings" as a flight attendant, but now she can talk openly about the experience and show what she does to earn a living.

Maurice managed to find another job in a bank as a transaction processing analyst, but did not give up the bottle business.
"It's a different experience to work in a bank, because I work mainly at home. I miss interacting with people. I miss my colleagues from the airline, they are like a family to me and we used to spend all our time together ", says Maurice.
With a radical change in lifestyle, the biggest challenge is to take care of her mental and physical health. "The hardest part, during this pandemic, is that we are all mentally, physically and emotionally unstable. You turn to friends, relatives, colleagues for comfort, but they also fight. You realize that we need to be strong and try to support those around us. ”, says Maurice.
Maurice is full of hope for the future and hopes to see his colleagues as soon as possible. She anticipates returning to an aircraft in 2022.
