On the night between January 6 and 7, 2015, around 03:00, a meteorite exploded over Romania. The strong light could also be seen from the capital, being caught by several surveillance cameras, including those at the "Henri Coandă" International Airport - Otopeni.
Most likely, the meteorite exploded upon entering the atmosphere and disintegrated. No problems were reported regarding air traffic.
