Vietravel Airlines is a subsidiary of the Vietnamese tour operator Vietravel and received the Air Operators Certificate from the Vietnamese Civil Aviation Authority in December 2020.

Commercial flights began in late January, and the airline now serves six domestic destinations in Vienna.

According to data provided by OAG Schedules Analyzer, the Vietravel Airlines network connects the capital Hanoi (HAN) with Da Nang (DAD), Hue (HUI) and Phuquoc (PQC). All three routes are daily. The airline also operates flights from Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to Da Nang twice a day, and offers daily flights to Cam Ranh (CXR) and Phu Quoc (PQC). In addition, the company will operate two daily rotations between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietravel Airlines will have a market share of 2.4%.

Although Vietnam's borders remain closed, the launch of Vietravel Airlines comes as competition continues to intensify in the domestic market, with airlines struggling to increase market share.

According to data provided by OAG Schedules Analyzer, the previous week there were 1.15 million places on the domestic market in Vietnam, compared to 1.07 million in the same week in 2020 and the 830.000 places in 2019.

Vietnam Airlines holds 40.9% of its total domestic capacity, followed by Vietjet with 38.9%, Bamboo Airways with a share of 17.8% and Vietravel Airlines now occupying 2.4% of capacity.

Among the routes launched by Vietravel Airlines, the carrier will face stiff competition on each of them, especially between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
