Volotea launches 10 new routes and increases the frequency of existing connections for the winter holidays 2020-2021

During the winter holidays, Volotea will operate flights on 143 routes, 60 of which are exclusive.

The Spanish low cost airline - Volotea announced in a press release that they have officially launched the offer for the winter holidays. It will expand its operational network in France, Spain and Italy by launching 10 new routes and increasing the frequency of existing flights.

Volotea launches 10 new routes

Flights will be operated on 143 routes, in total, of which 60 will be exclusive routes. Transport capacity will increase by 0.5 million seats, 33% more compared to the winter holidays in 2019.

During Christmas, Volotea will increase its transport capacity by 33% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Volotea announced its offer for the period December 17, 2020 - January 11, 2021. And the 10 new routes are: Lanzarote - Oviedo; Bilbao - Granada; Granada - Oviedo; Las Palmas - Oviedo; Lille - Nantes; Barcelona - Verona; Genoa - Paris; Luxembourg - Toulouse, Nantes - Perpignan and Lille - Perpignan.

Volotea, before the COVID-19 pandemic 

Volotea is a low-cost airline with private capital, which has the fastest development in Europe. Since 2012, Volotea has carried over 25 million passengers. The airline estimates that by 2020, it will have between 8.5 and 9 million passengers.

Volotea also expanded its fleet and operational network, adding 6 Airbus 319 aircraft and 62 new routes. It offers 354 connections between 96 small and large airports in 15 countries

The Volotea fleet consists of 39 aircraft: 25 x Airbus A319 and 14 x Boeing B717. It is based in 16 cities in Europe: Venice, Nantes, Bordeaux, Palermo, Strasbourg, Asturias, Verona, Toulouse, Geneva, Bilbao, Marseille, Athens, Calgary, Lyon, Naples and Hamburg.

The Hamburg base of Volotea has been opened to operate shuttle flights to Airbus. The Lyon and Naples bases will be open until the end of 2020.

To support continuous development, Volotea is recruiting over 200 employees for existing positions in France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Germany, and in 2020, the number of employees will reach 1500.
