This year's edition is dedicated to the aviation symbols Băneasa and Brăescu. We remind you that "Aurel Vlaicu" Băneasa International Airport turned 110 years old, Baneasa Airport being one of the oldest airports in the world, still functional.
Why Smaranda Brăescu? Because the beginnings of aviation in Romania have a special connection with the delicate, sensual rustling of silk. Because Smaranda Brăescu was Romania's first parachutist and third aviator. This year we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the absolute record of 7200m in parachuting set by aviator Smaranda Brăescu, a record set in 1932 in Sacramento, United States. At the same time, this year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Smaranda Brăescu.
At BIAS 2022, we will be able to admire the evolution of the following guests: Romanian Air Force; Aeroclub of Romania; TAROM; Hawks of Romania; Higher School of Civil Aviation and Air Force in Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Slovakia.
The pilots of the Italian Air Force, at the helm of the Eurofighter EF-2000A "Typhoon", the Alenia C-27J Spartan and the Alenia Aermacchi M-346 Master promise a sensational evolution!
