Wizz Air transported 80 million passengers from/to Romania

Wizz Air, Europe's fastest growing and most environmentally sustainable airline globally, is proud to announce a significant milestone, celebrating 80 million passengers in Romania. This achievement highlights the airline's firm commitment to providing pleasant travel experiences and underscores the trust of the 80 million passengers who have chosen Wizz Air for their travels.

As a sign of gratitude for this important achievement, Wizz Air awarded a voucher to the 80 millionth lucky passenger who traveled on the flight from Palma de Mallorca to Cluj-Napoca.

The first Wizz Air flight from Romania, in 2006

Since its first flight from Romania in 2006, Wizz Air has become the main airline in the country, operating 35 aircraft at its bases in Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Bucharest, Sibiu, Iasi and Timișoara. Over the past 17 years, the airline's presence has contributed to the creation of over 60.000 jobs in associated industries, with an extensive network comprising 75 destinations in 24 countries.

The airline continues to connect Romanian travelers with a diverse range of international destinations. Wizz Air recently launched new routes, including flights from Bucharest to Luxembourg, from Brasov to London and Dortmund, as well as from Craiova to Dortmund. Furthermore, Wizz Air will fly Bucharest - Tirana starting in October.

Through strategic investments of over 3,5 billion euros and increased attention paid to Romanian passengers, Wizz Air remains dedicated to expanding its services. The introduction of new routes is a testament to the airline's ongoing mission to enable travelers to explore new horizons, reunite with loved ones and create wonderful memories.
