9 million passengers transited Romanian airports in the first five months of 2023!

Over 9 million passengers transited Romanian airports in the first 5 months of this year, with almost 32% more than in the same period of 2022. Of these, two million passengers were registered in May, informs the Airports Association of Romania.

In May 2023, Henri Coandă International Airport – Bucharest reported 1.213.817 passengers. In second place was Cluj airport with 289.749 passengers, and in third place was Iași airport with 229.358 passengers. Other airports: Timisoara (115.350); Suceava (64.145); Craiova (45.909); Sibiu (44.045); Tîrgu Mures (18.396); Bacau (16.681); Oradea city (8.980)

In 2023, Romanian airports are prepared for air traffic close to 2019, when it was the best year in Romanian aviation. Airlines have announced new routes from/to Romanian airports, such as: Bucharest – Paris Beauvais with RYANAIR; Craiova – Dortmund with Wizz Air; Bucharest – Tirana with RYANAIR; Comiso (Sicily) – Bucharest Baneasa with Aeroitalia; Timisoara – Tel Aviv with HiSky; Brașov – London and Brașov – Dortmund.

For the first time in the history of Romania, in 2023, traffic data will also be reported from Brașov International Airport!
