The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mihai Daraban, representatives of the Council of the County Council of Brasov, as well as of other county and local administrations in the country, participated on Wednesday, December 13, at the Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, in the presentation of an aircraft of small size, model L 410, with a capacity of 19 seats, produced by a Czech company, Aircraft Industries (formerly Let Kunovice).

According to the manufacturer's information, the price of such an aircraft starts at 7,5 million euros, without optional equipment. According to the presentation made by the representatives of the Czech manufacturer, the aircraft is robust and can fly in difficult weather conditions, being used also for races in Nepal, where many tourists go to climb Everest, reports brasov.net. The plane has an autonomy of 2.570 kilometers, a flight speed of 417 km/h and a cargo capacity of 500 kg.

The presentation of this aircraft comes in the context in which 15 county councils in Romania plan to form an associative structure to establish a joint stock company Romanian Airlines, to operate scheduled domestic flights.

To begin with, there may be 5 or 6 aircraft, and the fleet will be expanded later. For business people and not only, this will mean that, in the course of a single day, they can travel within the territory of Romania between cities located hundreds of kilometers away from each other, saving money and time being obvious.

"From the first meeting on this topic, I was happy to see that, following the discussions, the county councils approved this project. Today we are really taking the first steps towards the establishment of the new Romanian airline", said the president of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.

The first route could even be Brașov - Constanța, announces the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

Regarding the term in which the new operator could be established, Daraban specified that, from his point of view, "things are ready, in the sense that the statute of the company is prepared, the technical and operational management company exists. Now, we cannot control the decisions at the level of public administrations either".

"The amounts would be provided by the shareholders, but it is important to specify that they do not have to provide the entire amount from the beginning, but to undertake that they will support the price of an airplane. In addition, the commercial company will be able to obtain financing lines with solid commitments behind them", explained Mihai Daraban, who emphasized the fact that the sum of 7,5 million euros for an aircraft is only indicative, because the value can be lower, depending on the results of negotiations with potential manufacturers and the number of aircraft ordered .
